Since 1961, Junction City has celebrated their Scandinavian heritage by transforming itself into a charming Old World community for four days each August. There are handicrafts including rosemalling, hardanger, pottery, woodcrafts, needle work, and original paintings, drawings, and watercolors. Colorful costumes are highlighted during the fashion show, and storytellers and actors bring to life the tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Performances by folk dancers, Choral and instrumental groups, numerous stage events can be enjoyed, and the historical museum tour add color and diversity to the Scandinavian festivities.
