Basketball for Little Hoopers
AGE 5 - 7 MIN 6 / MAX 12
Play lots of fun basketball games! Basic skills taught through fun drills, activities and skill-developing games.
Elementary School Basketball League
GRADES 2 - 5 MAX: 10 PER TEAM
Girls and boys play on separate grade-level teams to learn basic skills, teamwork and rules. Teams practice once a week after school for 90 minutes, with games on Saturdays. Teams determined by number of players. Registrations must be received by January 4, 2010. Possible game travel to Philomath.
Boys & Girls Open Gym Basketball
GRADES 5 - 8
Continue working on your shooting, dribbling, passing and other court skills. Supervision provided.
Middle School Basketball League
GRADES 6 - 8 MAX 10 PER TEAM
Girls and boys play on separate teams to improve basic skills, practice teamwork, learn game strategy and rules. Teams practice for 90 minutes once a week right after school and play games on Saturdays. Team formation will be determined by the number of registered participants.
Elks’ Hoop Shoot Competition
AGES 8-13 UNLIMITED
Test your basketball free throw skills in a national competition for boys and girls. Local winners are eligible for district contest. Co-sponsored with the Corvallis Elks.
Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship
AGE 10 - 14 UNLIMITED
Older youth can test their free throw shooting skills in this contest, which follows the Elks Hoop Shoot Contest. Co-sponsored with the Knights of Columbus.
Basketball Fundamentals
AGES 8 - 11 & 11 - 14 MIN 8 / MAX 20
Enjoy lots of fun basketball games and drills! Develop and improve skills while working on footwork, quickness, speed and agility.
Boys and Girls Basketball Academy
AGE 11 - 14 MIN 6 / MAX 12
Challenge yourself while learning specifi c basketball skills. This class is for the serious, competitive basketball player to improve speed, agility and quickness. Emphasis on ball handling, shooting, footwork, and defensive skills.
Recreation Basketball
GRADES 9 - 12 (‘09 - 10 SCHOOL YEAR) MAX 28 TEAMS
Team registration December 1-11, at the Parks & Recreation Offi ce, 1310 SW Avery Park Drive. All teams registered by December 11, will be scheduled in the Holiday Tournament. More information at local schools in mid-November and online.
