MidValley Basketball Academy (MVBA) is a non-profit basketball program with the goal of preparing girls for high school basketball. This is accomplished through a regimen of fundamental skill development.  We spend most of our practice time on the fundamentals.  Our emphasis is on offensive skills such as shooting, moving without the ball, being a one on one threat, etc.  Also, we work on individual and team defense. Our primary team defenses are a player to player help defense and a pressure half court trapping defense.

Our goal is to prepare the young athlete to make her high school team.  We spend very little time on specific half court plays or on zone defenses.  These are concepts better left to their specific high school program.

MVBA offers camps, clinics, private and semi-private instruction as well as summer training programs to prepare girls for the next level of play. Also, we offer tournament teams for girls from 4th through 8th grade. Girls from the Mid-Valley area of Linn, Benton, Polk, and Marion counties are welcome.

MVBA is now offering spring and fall high school teams. We are offering  a continuing opportunity for mid-valley area high school girls to play into the spring and fall. Our teams will compete in a high school league either at the Hoop in Beaverton or in the Eugene area. The teams are open to any high school girls from the mid-valley, girls from smaller schools are encouraged to tryout.
