The Jr. Generals are a non-profit organization, founded in 1989, whose mission is to promote citizenship, sportsmanship, fellowship, and physical development among the youth of Eugene (OR), Springfield, and the Willamette Valley. LAHA accomplishes this by sponsoring and promoting organized ice hockey for boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 18 years of age. LAHA does this in compliance with the rules and regulations of USA Hockey and the Oregon State Hockey Association (OSHA).
In hockey, as with many sports, players are divided by age group for the purpose of practice and competition. The age of the player is based on calendar year. For example a player who turns 13 on December 31st of the current calendar year would be a Bantam
All divisions are co-ed and currently all teams have both male and female players.
Mites - 8 years & under
Squirts - 9 to 10 years
Peewees - 11 to 12 years
Bantams - 13 to 14 years
High School - All players who currently attend high school regardless of age.
Special Hockey - Players with Autism and Developmental Disabilities
