The Osborn Aquatic Center is part of the City of Corvallis' Parks and Recreation Department. It has two indoor pools (open year round) as well as two outdoor pools (open Spring and Summer). Additionally, Osborn Aquatic Center offers aqua and land exercise classes as well as swimming lessons.
Depth begins at 3.5 feet and gradually slopes down to 13 feet at the deepest end. The 50 Meter Pool is divided by a moveable bulkhead. While various configurations are possible, when the bulkhead is moved to either end, the pool is configured for 50 meter lanes or "Long Course" and when the bulkhead is in the center of the pool, the two halves are then both configured for 25 meter lanes or "Short Course."
The shallow end has a water-basketball hoop, inner-tubes, floating mats and an inflatable log roll. The deep end has one 1-meter diving board, and one 3-meter diving board, plus a rope swing, 75 foot "zip-line" and "water-totter" inflatable toy for recreation use.
The 50 Meter Pool's temperature is kept at 83 degrees F.
The depth starts at zero feet with the first step, at the bottom of the steps the depth is 2.5 feet and gradually slopes down to 4.5 feet at the deep end. The Small Pool has long, wide access steps with handrails down the middle and along one side that run the full length of the stairs.
The Small Pool has foam "noodle" toys which are available for recreation, exercise and instruction. Our mats and inner-tubes are not allowed in the Small Pool due to the limited space.
The Small Pool's temperature is kept at 91 degrees F. The warmer temperature is ideal for relaxing, water therapy, and children's lessons.
The Leisure Pool is 3.5 feet at its deepest areas and slopes gradually up to a zero depth, "beach" entry area which extends around the quarter-circle arch of the pool. The deepest part of the pool is made up of the "splash down" catch pool for the water slide and a free form "lazy river" style water channel.
The Leisure Pool has a nearly 5 foot wide, 155 foot long water channel with a pump driven current and forced air bubble benches. The pool also has a 158 foot long, 22 foot high water slide. The Leisure Pool is designed for water fun with three "water-cannon" spray toys, numerous geyser water jets, a large interactive arch-jet spray feature, tumble-buckets, an 8 foot wide kiddies' water slide and an interactive "pools and falls" water toy. Finally there is a large play structure with interactive waterfalls and sprays, a tire swing and a kiddies' tube slide.
The Leisure Pool's temperature is kept at 86 degrees F.
Handicap access
The Leisure Pool is handicap accessible from wheel chairs, standing or carry positions by means of the battery operated RehaMed PAL - Portable Aquatic Lift, as well as by rolling directly into the pool from the zero depth beach entry areas, using water-safe chairs and gurneys.
The Outdoor Lap Pool starts at 3.5 and gradually slopes down to 6 feet at the deep end. There is a wide access stair in the shallow end off the side of the 1st lane.
The Outdoor Lap Pool has a water-basketball hoop, inner-tubes and floating mats. The deep end is deep enough for diving. The Outdoor Lap Pool's temperature is kept at 82 degrees F.
