This scenic 1,240 acre lake with its many miles of forested shoreline provides multiple outdoor recreational opportunities. Overnight camping is available at Mona campground, boat launching at Saddle Dam and Lookout Creek ramps. Fishing, swimming and water skiing are the favorite activities at the two recreation areas, both near the upper end of the lake.

LOCATION: 5 miles northeast of Blue River

ACCESS: From Blue River, travel 3 miles east on Hwy 126 to Road 15. Saddle Dam Boat Launch is 1 mile from the Road 15 and Hwy 126 junction while Lookout Boat Launch is 4 miles.

FACILITIES: Saddle Dam - boat launch, fee area
Lookout Boat Launch - 25 day use areas, water, vault toilet, concrete boat ramp, floating dock, and paved parking area
Lookout Creek Campground - 20 sites, trailer parking without hookups, vault toilets, and boat ramp
Mona Campground - 23 sites, trailer parking without hookups, fire rings, flush toilets, water and tables

ACTIVITIES: camping, picnicking, boating, swimming, fishing, water skiing

SERVICES: Groceries and gas are available in nearby community of Blue River

ABOUT the RESERVOIR: The reservoir is primarily used as a storage space for floodwaters in winter, but is filled for the summer recreation season.

WATER LEVEL: 6.4 miles long, 1,420 acres when full, dam is 1,265 feet long and 270 feet high. Water levels and boat ramp accessibility information is available from the Oregon State Marine Board website. Look for Blue River Reservoir in the section titled "Willamette Basin Reservoirs."

COMMENTS: Be watchful for obstructions near the shoreline such as submerged stumps, logs, and rocks. Small craft are advised to stay out of open waters when winds become threatening as dangerous waves can build up suddenly.
