The Majestic Theatre is a non-profit, member-owned corporation that hosts community theatre projects presented by groups such as the Corvallis Community Theatre, Majestic Theatre Education & The Santiam Christian School. They serve the local community in a variety of ways, offering a gallery space, a dance program, youth programs and much more.
The Majestic Theatre Education Program (Majestic Education), a Youth Theatre Co., is designed to offer the highest quality theatrical instruction and productions for youth, schools and the community. Thousands of students and families participate in the program each year either as actors, technicians, audience members, or volunteers.
Three Shows are presented during the school year and feature local student actors. Each of these "Shows for Schools" will have six daytime performances per show to allow school audiences to attend as field trips and at least two public performances (see School Shows for details about show dates, auditions and reserving seats). Majestic Education also presents a one-hour musical each summer featuring local student actors in a two-weekend run. One holiday "Special Event" production featuring local amateur and semi-professional actors of all ages provides an opportunity for both students and adults to participate in Majestic Education's Stage Offerings. One Modern Dance Program recital in spring rounds out the Education season.
Majestic Education staff serve as artists in residence to bring the performing arts out of the theatre and into the community. Both private and public schools benefit from curricula that can be tailored to each schools budget and curriculum needs.
Modern Dance Technique and Creative Movement, led by Donna Blatt-Ervin joined with Majestic Education in 1992, and offers eleven levels of Modern Dance instruction for beginning through advanced students aged 4½ to 21.
