The Berry Botanic Garden began as the personal collection of a remarkable plantswoman, Rae Selling Berry (1881-1976). A dedicated group of volunteers and donors now maintains and expands this extraordinary landscape in the service of education, conservation and horticulture.
A living plant museum
Plants from around the world mingle with those of the Pacific Northwest. Stroll the native plant trail and learn about gardening for wildlife. The largest public rock garden on the West coast is a beautiful place to view flowers of the mountains. See uncommon trees, primulas, rhododendrons and more.
Saving plants from extinction
We are partners with agencies and organizations, local and world-wide, in all aspects of plant conservation, including field studies, seed storage and, when appropriate, the re-introduction of plants nearing extinction.
Teaching about plants and gardening
From classes and hikes to volunteer opportunities and guided tours, the education program is here to help you learn about plants and gardening in the Pacific Northwest.
Open Monday through Friday, 9:00-4:30, Pacific time
