Owen Memorial Rose Garden can be reached by car at the north end of Jefferson, which ends at the garden's parking lot. There are picnic tables under a covered area near the entrance. The garden entrance offers a beautiful pergola-lined walkway, which is covered in climbing roses. Benches are placed along the path as well as lighting. There is a nearby gazebo (which can be rented for ceremonies etc).
The rose garden is divided into two sections. The southern section, nearest the entrance, boasts a collection of heritage and heirloom roses. The section closest to the river offers many hybrid and modern roses. The garden is a wonderful place to walk, sit and contemplate, or have a romantic picnic. It is also a perfect entrance point for a walk along the Willamette River.
